In Trump’s latest Truth Social post, he shares a disgusting video depicting a golden statue of himself, a sky scraper with his name on it, a superyacht on the Gaza coast, him holding hands with a female entertainer in a night club wearing a see-through gown, him & Netanyahu shirtless together sipping alcohol on the Gaza coast with a sign that says “Trump Gaza,” and money raining down with kids jumping up to grab it.

All the signs of what many would call the antichrist, yet the religious-right is convinced he’s their savior. He wants to turn Gaza into a Las Vegas style resort with his name plastered everywhere.

I think everyone has accepted at this point that Trump is extremely stupid and might be borderline mentally challenged. I mean even in the 80s people knew he was dumb, Biff Tannen in back to the future was reportedly based on Trump.

100%, he is actively working with BRICS countries to destabilize our economy and kill us all. Part of that is working with Tulsi, Israel, and India/Modi to exterminate Muslims. The cult Tulsi is in is for just that, and her testimony at her confirmation hearing also explicitly referenced Muslims as her #1 issue. My assumption is that Iran and Saudi Arabia are going to use the turmoil to gain power over Islamic nations and eliminate their competition.

This is literally insane. Like “need urgently to go to book a visit with a specialist” insane.

Could you believe it if you saw it just 4 months ago, with everyone screaming “Genocide Joe”

He actually posted it on “truth” https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114068387897265338

I am really curious to see what the followers replied to that, but i don’t have an account

Yes, Butcher Biden enabled the genocide. This outcome is because Biden sent Israel the bombs that destroyed Gaza. You can and should oppose both.

The Biden administration vetoed multiple ceasefires at the UN. Voted against Palestinian sovereignty. Sent Israel thousands of bombs. Provided the legal, political and media cover for Israel to commit the genocide over a 15 month period.

Dig a deeper hole. You clearly never cared to oppose the genocide when Biden was president. You just want to settle scores.

      Edit:

I don’t know those who downvoted this is it because they deny the genocide or deny the Democratic Party’s complicity in it? Either way clearly you are no allies if you oppose Trump’s plans but not Biden’s actions. Good luck in 2028, none of us are ever returning to the Democratic Party.

Yes, but Trump has said what he wants to do clearly and was happy about it, instead of frowning and wagging his finger while sending the weapons and publishing the propaganda. If Biden was supporting this, his complicity would be debatable.

Idk why I bother, but Biden’s main goal was the hostages which is why he canceled the ceasefire. Yes he sucks but he wasn’t per se for the genocide, he was for getting the hostages released as his main goal. Which arguably Israel was using their own people in Gaza as proxy hostages, bombing them and threatening to kill them unless the US kept giving them money, creating a reincarnation of the Iran Contra hostages that lost Carter the election. Notice that Netanyahu and Trump are buddies and Netanyahu vastly prefers Trump to Biden.

Genocide joe, genocide Trump. Enjoying the company you keep blue conservative?

Why is it that you relish in the fact that other Americans are unrepresented by their options in the voting booth? Do you hate democracy?

There is a better way. One in which people are free to vote for who best represents them. Are you working to give these people the freedom to vote for who they want? Or are you waiting to scream at people to vote for your preference.

Here are some helpful videos to show you that the democrats don’t have to be the only opposition to the republican party. I would say the democrats have more then lost their privilege to go it alone at the republicans.

      Videos on Electoral Reform

First Past The Post voting (What most states use now)

Videos on alternative electoral systems we can try out.

      STAR voting

      Alternative vote

      Ranked Choice voting

      Range Voting

      Single Transferable Vote

      Mixed Member Proportional representation

A two party system is only one away from a one party state.

I don’t want to see Republicans win elections any more than you, but that is the natural process of people not being enthusiastic to vote when you are justifying supporting genocide.

If Democrats want to win elections next time around then they should start talking about how they’ll honor the ICC arrest warrant and how they intend to sanction Israel. However, I’m fully prepared for you to explain why they can’t do that just like you explained away them funding genocide. Democrats need more than Trump Bad.

            For those who don’t…

I mean if we have to do advertisement-supported journalism, whichever advertisement revenues are generated should go to the creators, not to the thieves. It doesn’t cost you anything to link to the real McCoy rather than the copy, and if someone finds your post from outside Lemmy and clicks on your link without an ad blocker, it will send a tenth of a penny to the creator.

And yes, plenty of people browse without an ad blocker. How do I know? Because the advertisement industry is still alive and well, sadly.

Fediverse is said to be too confusing to use from redditors when reasons are given for why that haven’t joined, so this demographic of users likely skews much higher towards ad blocking with how niche the user base is.

By the same token, one can argue that expert Fediversers shouldn’t have any trouble retracing the true origin of whatever story they want to post and linking to that instead, to give credit where credit is due.

Because really, it doesn’t cost anything and it helps deprive the leeching aggregators of a few clicks.

        Lol.

Allow me to introduce you to reality. First thing’s first. You don’t get everything you want in reality. It fucking sucks and you have to bust your ass to get things even close to how you want them slowly over long periods of time.

Now, being that we’ve established reality, allow me to further explain this particular part of reality.

There is no scenario in which America gives up its oldest and most important ally in the Middle East. Not happening. Go ahead and forget that shit. That means America is going to tip-toe around Israel so as not to jeopardize that allegiance.

So now, in reality, you were presented with exactly two options in November. Why only two options? Because no 3rd party is even remotely close to winning a presidential election because no 3rd party has done the work to get ANY members in EITHER chamber of Congress. How do I know a 3rd party can’t win, other than having NO members in Congress? Because the 3rd party candidate with the most votes was magician Jill Stein who magically appears right before every election then magically disappears again after each election. And she only got exactly HALF OF A SINGLE PERCENT of the total votes cast. So now we know, definitively, that no 3rd party candidate had a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the 2024 presidential election.

So now let’s talk about our ONLY two options. One was NOT Donald Trump and the other one was, you guessed it, Donald Trump who, before the election, literally said “Israel should finish the job”. He made it abundantly clear, multiple times, that he gave exactly zero fucks about Palestine. And now, surprise surprise, he wants to level the place, round up Palestinians and send them to other countries, and build a fucking vacation resort.

So, rub those brain cells together and let me know which option would have been best for Palestinians. Let me know which option someone who claims to care about Palestinians should have chosen to minimize the suffering. Because you can cry to your mommy all day about neither option being good, but the bottom line is if you gave a fuck, you’d be interested in helping minimize the suffering.

And that’s just in relation to Palestine. If you did your homework like any responsible American should, you’d find out that our economy fairs better under Democrats, they have WAY less convicted criminals in their ranks, and they have a voting history proving they regularly vote in favor of the middle and lower classes. And again, I’ll repeat, your ONLY two options for the foreseeable future, until a 3rd party gets off their asses and does some real hard work, are either Democrats or Republicans.

Now, if you’re admitting you either didn’t vote or protest voted, you probably don’t have the brain cells to grasp anything I just said, but hopefully others reading this will.

Now that you “established reality”, let me add one caveat of reality that keeps getting ignored when folks make your argument.

Left wing voters are not motivated by genocide, nor trying to meet those who do support it in the middle with “just a bit of genocide, as a treat”.

Maybe America can’t give up its “most important ally in the middle east”. But in that case, unless the Dems could find a way to bridge the gap between appeasing Israel and stopping genocide, then it was obvious they were going to lose.

But they didn’t even try to. FFS they didn’t even try to pay lip service to the very notion. Nor did they try to rally their base with policies their base has been asking for for decades. Instead they campaigned on “we are a big enough tent to welcome Republicans like Dick Fucking Cheney”. With a last minute candidate swap putting forward someone who lost the last primary by a frankly embarrassing margin.

I voted for Kamala, I kept these opinions to myself to not push voters away from doing so, and I pushed the harm reduction argument to anyone who was considering abstaining or voting 3rd party. I still believe it was the best play we had with the hand we were dealt. But it wasn’t the best play the Democrats had, it was damn near the worst.

When we have decades of data to show how many people don’t vote, and how fickle those who do are, it’s on the political party to motivate their voters. And Dems just didn’t fucking bother. On the contrary, the reality is that the party the motivated almost all voters in the country was MAGA. Be it for or against Trump. Almost no one was voting FOR Kamala.

So welcome to reality, the reality that you cant win an election based on the virtue of “being the second worst option”.

Since we’re adding caveats of reality, I’ll join in: the Democrats’ myriad mistakes and missteps in “motivating” left wing voters does not absolve those voters of their own responsibility.

            You did the right thing

voted for Kamala, I kept these opinions to myself to not push voters away from doing so, and I pushed the harm reduction argument to anyone who was considering abstaining or voting 3rd party.

I did the same, despite my own similar lack of “motivation”, because as you said, it was the best play we had with the hand we were dealt. The criticism here is leveled at the third party voters and abstainers, because the people here are voters. If you want to criticize Democratic leadership, I encourage you to direct that criticism directly toward them.

I would love to have had a viable alternative, but without significant representation in Congress and state Governorship, it’s just not going to happen. Successful presidential campaigns don’t just appear out of thin air (unless you have a massive cult of personality). The vast majority of presidents were previously Senators or Governors, offices that they rose to after careers that began at the local level. If you want better options, actually vote in your local elections, and encourage other leftists to do the same.

Until then, red vs blue is our reality, and criticizing the lesser evil for not being good enough is a virtue signal circle jerk.

unless the Dems could find a way to bridge the gap between appeasing Israel and stopping genocide, then it was obvious they were going to lose.

There is no bridging the gap. The dipshit protest voters made that clear. They had to have it 100% their way or no way at all. Because they’re children who are willing to sacrifice our democracy over a single fucking issue.

Remember, these protest voters were so fucking stupid that they chose to allow Donald Trump to become president, knowing he would be FAR, FAR worse on the topic of Palestine. They never gave a flying fuck about Palestine. They only cared about being morally superior. Otherwise they would have swallowed their dipshit pride and voted in such a manner as to help Palestinians as much as they had the power to.

You can sit here and complain about the Democrat party all you want, but the alternative was so fucking bad, proven by 1 already utterly failed presidency, that only a fool of the highest degree would act in such a way as to allow that alternative back into power, no matter how many complaints they have about the Democrat party. And, oh look, now our federal government is being deconstructed in front of our very eyes, oligarchs are pilfering the public coffers, and Gaza will be turned to ash. Actions, meet consequences.

You say the Democrat party didn’t do anything to help themselves. I can agree they could have done more. But they had a successful presidency to tout, a voting record proving they try to help average Americans, stats showing a recovering economy, which they also touted, and have many representatives opening discussions about things like universal healthcare, which has never, and will never, be part of the discussion over on the other side of the aisle. They did not just sit around thinking “hey look at the other option” was their only strategy. Just look at the Kamala/Trump debate. She talked facts and policy and he shit himself and talked about immigrants eating people’s pets, explaining that he only had concepts of plans.

You need to understand that the brunt of the blame here does not fall on the Democrat party. It falls squarely on Americans for being trash, low information, easily manipulated voters. It’s not Democrat’s fault Americans aren’t responsible enough to inform themselves. Americans are failing spectacularly at their civic duty.

the reality is that the party the motivated almost all voters in the country was MAGA

Yeah, it’s a whole hell of a lot easier to utilize hate, fear, and lies to motivate people than to expect adults to be responsible and actually do their homework.

In terms of an individual’s personal philosophy, I agree, but I’m not so willing to give the Democratic party slack. They SERIOUSLY fucked up 2016 and 2024 elections - votes are earned. This is literally their job and they are incompetent. We still have Dem lawmakers on fucking TWITTER. How slow and out of touch can they be - they should know the owner of Twitter is not safe, threw up a Nazi salute, and sold us out to Russia via Starlink satellites.

They lost on social media and on the policies themselves not being exciting enough. Gaslighting the public that the economy is good when starvation increased by like 8% and homelessness by 18% in 2024

It’s frustrating as fuck. Had they just held a fair primary in both 2016 and 2024, we may have won. Instead they testified in court in 2016 that they didn’t have to hold fair elections. Noodle spine Hakeem Jeffries seems unable to do anything but speak at fundraisers and raise funds, per his own admissions.

Luckily we have people like Bernie, AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Maxwell Frost, Al Green, Merkley, Markey, and many others who are speaking out and doing the work.

                votes are earned

That’s only half the equation. Yes, a party is responsible for advertising themselves and their accomplishments. The other half of the equation is the populace being responsible adults, which is NOT the case with a LARGE swath of Americans. It’s American’s responsibility to inform themselves about a party’s voting history and criminal conviction history. To be aware of the status of the economy under each party, historically. It’s literally impossible for a party to thoroughly educate every last voter.

We still have Dem lawmakers on fucking TWITTER.

I don’t like it, but realistically it’s probably for exposure. Particularly to independent voters. It’s still a very large platform and if they leave, then it’s 100% a racist Nazi shithole instead of just 95%.

                They lost on social media

It’s hard to compete against hate, fear, racism, and general misinformation. Truth can’t win on the internet until companies are actually held accountable for the damage their platforms cause due to their inability to moderate misinformation. This is one of the primary reasons I believe the future to be a dark one.

Gaslighting the public that the economy is good

All metrics indicate the economy was recovering under Democrat leadership. Clearly that takes time. I agree that they could have advertised that better, but again, it’s partially up to Americans to be aware of these metrics. It’s their civic duty.

Look, Democrats can do better. No doubt. But the bottom line is Americans chose the BLATANTLY worse option. As in, we may never see such a blatant, obvious election ever again in our lives. That’s on Americans and their inability to take their civic duty seriously.

Yes, a party is responsible for advertising themselves and their accomplishments.

They are responsible for so much more than that, including making and passing good policies the public likes and is excited about.

and general misinformation No, and this is another bone I have to pick - we’ve been in conflict with massive online psyops, which the Dems have known about. They started talking about this relating to the 2016 election, and here’s a memo from 12/31/24 saying it happened in the 2024 election: https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy2766

So it’s actually hugely important that they address these massive online psyops (and indeed have been somewhat), but weren’t effective and imo didn’t take it seriously or aggressively enough.

The economy really wasn’t improving for the poorest. That you all dismiss homelessness and starvation, literally such an increase it affected millions in one of the wealthiest countries, is why Dems lost the trust of their voters. They were saying “hey, I’m like, at risk of literally DYING,” (bc starvation literally kills!) And they were gaslighted that actually things were fine. And you’re confused why people didn’t vote? Maybe they didn’t have the calories. We know food matters for the ability to learn and research as well, that’s why feeding kids breakfast and lunch was so desirable because it increases test scores and learning and pays for itself later.

Maybe Dems (the ones like Hakeem Jeffries, not AOC) just aren’t as good of leaders as they claim. They know how to cozy up to rich people for speeches at Goldman-Sachs, sure. They can fundraise and often ONLY fundraise (I noticed a lack of volunteer positions for Kamala, donations only, whereas Bernie allowed me to volunteer and make calls for his campaign). To your average person, the Dems abandoned them, so they abandoned the Dems.

The Dems got out matched by Republicans due to weakness, as they have been for years, starting with Gore and the hanging chads, the last Obama Supreme Court seat, and a million capitulations and Lucy and the football situations.

LOL… go ahead and splain away why you think people should vote for the slave holder. Why it isn’t on the slave holder to change their beliefs, but on the people voting to just suck it up. In fact, you don’t even think you should bother getting the slave holder to change their beliefs. You are fine with slavery.

Now, if you’re admitting you either didn’t vote or protest voted, you probably don’t have the brain cells to grasp anything I just said, but hopefully others reading this will.

Jill Stein received more votes from Palestinians than Harris. Now according to you, Democrats like yourself are just way smarter than they are capable of comprehending and they should just sit down, shut up & do what you tell them. The slave holder knows best according to you.

This is unhinged as fuck. Color me unsurprised.

Jill Stein received more votes from Palestinians than Harris.

Jill Stein received HALF OF A SINGLE PERCENT OF THE TOTAL VOTES CAST. That makes her irrelevant. Which makes the other 3rd party candidates with less votes less than irrelevant.

I honestly can’t wrap my mind around someone being dumb enough to abstain from voting or vote 3rd party if they claim to give any shits at all about Palestinians. Especially if they’re dumb enough to continue holding their stance on the matter now, when we’re seeing the repercussions of such a stupid action.

But hey, you’re trying to use some ridiculous slave holder analogy, so I guess I shouldn’t be shocked.

If you are concerned with spoiler candidates, you should be very invest in passing electoral reform in your state. That way the people voting for the green party could still potentially have their votes counted against the republicans, even if the green party didn’t win.

Are you working to pass electoral reform in your state?

Honestly, sharing an insane AI video to social media is such peak boomer. Perfectly on brand for him and his audience.
