I heard Bond shot him right in the Janus.
I wonder whether he auditioned for the EMH, then later called (and slightly type cast) as the DaVinci hologram.
That’d be a fun recast, but glad for what we got. If nothing else, he gained Janeway’s trust a lot quicker than The Doctor.
