As a European I am very impressed by her, I think it would benefit Americans greatly to go more in her direction and less Republican.

Oh for sure. Honestly, it would be great if she was the first woman President one day. I’d campaign as hard as I could to get her elected. A perfect blend of strong moral principles and quick wit.

We can write off the vast majority of the Republicans from ever supporting her, but that’s a given no matter who Democrats nominate. There thus remains two further problems:

        • The right-wing propaganda machine smearing her (and thereby influencing the independent/centrist/moderate swing-voters who have a frequency to be… Susceptible to misinformation currents).
        • And internal division among the Democratic coalition who believe ShE iSn’T EleCtABlE because she doesn’t water down her positions to the point failure and to appeal to ignorance for a group of people who will never vote for her anyway. (In this respect, I think the biggest hurdle for a progressive will always be the Democratic Primary and not the General election).

    ?

The self-delusion traditional media affords itself is gobsmacking.

Biden is in tailspin for this election cycle. No amount of tut-tutting from any corner can fix that. Only Joe can fix the issue and only by taking a fundamentally different approach to the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.

AOC can’t change that because it has nothing to do with her. She’s irrelevant to the situation. If she starts to carry water for this genocide funding octogenarian without demanding anything for the progressive movent in return, the movement that put her into power, then she truly is lost. It will cost her support in the only corner she’s ever had any.

    Ridiculous. What a joke.

    …however…

If Biden dumped Harris as running mate for AOC… She will be 35 in November.

You know how people get really annoyed with American conservatives slinging buzzwords and generally yapping about something or other thinking they’re making a good point? I think it’s catching on because that’s exactly how I feel reading “genocide-funding octogenarian”.

Yesterday the last functioning hospital in Gaza was bombed by Israel. Biden’s approval rating is in the 30’s."

If you want to guarantee that Trump glides into office, keep acting and thinking like you do. If you are unwilling to criticize what is clearly a losing strategy, then you own the strategy. His policy on Gaza is deeply unpopular on the left and with Democrats.

Did you read the article? Its a complete puff piece trying to wag the progressive dog. And if AOC is such a valuable ally, where is it? Where is the rhetoric that is convincing progressives to support Biden? Where is the support she’s supposed to be whipping up? The left is roundly rejecting Bidens policies in Gaza, and his further and further missteps are showing that actually, bloccing up and supporting Biden may end up being a worse strategy than shuffling things up and finding a more suitable candidate now, because Biden is proving to support policies that are deeply unpopular with the base that would be putting him into power.

Biden has to win Michigan. If the election were tomorrow there is an icecubes chance in hell he wins Michigan. Why? Gaza. Period. Its February and we’re not even half-way through primary season, but the way its shaping up, its in the bag for Trump.

        Edit:

Just put together this figure of polling out of Michigan post Oct. 7th.

No amount of AOC cheer leading will fix this. It only hurts AOC.

Idk what the hell you’re on about trying to make me seem like someone from a figment of your imagination. I just said your buzzwords are annoying as fuck. Deal with it with some better use of words and better criticism. I’m not the problem here, you are with your bullshit.

Its just your own vapid opinion what a buzzword is. Calling Biden a geriatric isn’t using buzzwords, its using precise language. I’m making serious points about the viability of Biden as a candidate. He 80+. He’s an octogenarian. He is has previously supported and continues to support the Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people. Burying your head in the sand because your annoyed for hearing the truth isn’t helping Biden. Bidens support for the Palestinian genocide, along with very very valid considerations around his age are looking to cost the Democrats the election in 2024.

I’m making actual points here and you are the one yapping. You deal with that, and if your only opinion is color commentary trying to regulate someone else’s speach, maybe just keep it to yourself.

              Friend,

You wrote a phrase with a hyphen in it. It doesn’t roll off the tounge, it is like a rock in a shoe. The person you are responding to did not like your phrasing (a bit fussy of them, honestly) and you responded with a book and a graph.

This is not how you persuade people. It is kind of funny to watch happen, though.

I think I’m due for a hot drink and a nice walk.

Fussy?? lol Alright, maybe a bit…

But in my defense, I see a whole wave of people on here exaggerating the truth and using the same buzzwords, calling anyone who doesn’t agree with them a genocide supporter or accusing them of being scared of the truth. Maybe I’m just paranoid but it seems to me like a concerted effort and I don’t like it.

calling anyone who doesn’t agree with them a genocide supporter

I think Democrats shouldn’t be selling weapons that they know will be used to commit genocide.

Now say “buzzword” a few dozen more times. It’s not changing the fact that Biden supports Netanyahu’s genocide.

Burying your head in the sand

Funny thing is, you’re not the first person throwing that line whenever when called out for this. Nobody’s burying their heads anywhere besides you and your own rear, maybe. What’s next, calling me a genocide supporter next for not agreeing with you?

hearing the truth … Bidens support for the Palestinian genocide … I’m making actual points here

Honey, that’s not the truth, that’s your vapid and exaggerated opinion. If you’re so keen on keeping everyone honest here, start with yourself.

trying to regulate someone else’s speach,

Nah, I told you what you sound like. Or here’s another idea: if you’re so butthurt about people calling you out for using these tired buzzwords or exaggerating your points, then don’t do it to articulate your ideas and grow a thicker skin.

Biden’s in the 30’s based on recent polling.

          https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/approval/joe-biden/

No candidate has ever won the presidency polling this low. All current polling shows Trump winning by a landslide.

If AOC is boosting support for Biden, show me it, because I don’t see it. Its not in the coverage, and its not in the polling.

What I see in this article is baseless conjecture. If you see what the article claims to exist, show it to me.

First step first, pull our heads out of our asses and start having a critical discussion about the viability of Biden as a candidate, with an open mind as to having an actual primary. He’s old as fuck and showing it, badly. He’s worse this month than he was last month. An 80 year old man should be gardening and having conversations with the family pets, not making decisions that they’ll never experience the consequences of. Trump being a massive pile of shit isn’t carte blanc to also run a shitty candidate. Maybe he should step down and let Harris take us into November.

Second step, we need to have a reconciling within the Democratic party regarding the failure of leadership they’ve been demonstrating for the past decade. They need to stop treating the progressive wing of the caucus as pariahs. The progressive/ leftist wing of the party has been whats saved their asses every election cycle because the Liberals and center right wings of the party can’t get out of their own way to win an election. Primary debates are traditionally where this kind of debate is held. the DNC didn’t permit this, so it will have to happen in media. Call for these debates now. We need to find a viable candidate that will drive voters to the polls in November.

Third step, is that right now, Biden needs to shift his policy on Israel and the border. He needs to show that if voters tick D’ in November, they aren’t voting for a party further right on Middle East policy than the Republicans. Likewise with the border. The Democrats just took 8 steps to the right on border policy, and got basically nothing for it. Its not clear to me that the mess Biden has set the table with is fixable, but right now.

First step, acceptance. Second step, truth and reconciliation. Third step, re-configuring/ re-align policy.

Your first sentence doesn’t jive. It reads poorly. Maybe “The self-delusion tradition the media affords itself is gobsmacking.”

Then you go on to say her endorsement doesn’t matter. Which doesn’t seem accurate. She is playing long term and can go after President next election. Why settle for VP when you can win it all?
