Yesterday I accidentally commented in .ml and mentioned that voting third party in our current voting system is playing with fire to get a worse candidate in office. I was told I must therefore start a grassroots movement for ranked choice voting, because apparently I can’t have an opinion without a movement.

IMO, those who know who Liz Cheney enough to think her brand is toxic know her well enough to know what’s happened in the last 4 years and why that would put her in that position. And that “why” is much more important than “who”

It’s not about certain proof, it’s about reduction of risk. If you can’t/won’t even try to find someone who can pass, you probably have a higher risk. If you can, you’re probably lower risk.

I remember reading a comment from a defense lawyer saying he had 3 roles depending on the situation a client was in. He could be a fighter, who would convince the world that his client was not guilty. He could be a negotiator, who would try to plea down charges or come up with a deal of some kind.
