That’s not to suggest an equivalence here.
That is exactly what this shitty article is trying to do.
Exactly. They are totally different. Dems will accept the result, to quote the article, if it has
“won a free, fair, and honest” race
But with all we hear about Georgia like https://www.npr.org/2024/09/18/nx-s1-5103887/georgia-election-board-rule-changes and such I think it is a legitimate worry that the results might not be entirely honest. Or with https://truthout.org/articles/republicans-refuse-to-extend-voter-registration-as-hurricaes-strike-southeast/ , worried about it being fair and free.
Dems do have a history of disputing election results that are the outcome of blatant voter suppression. Kind of hard to have a free and fair election when people are turned away from the polls, or not enough time is allocated to count votes, or people are removed from the voter rolls for bullshit reasons. You know, things that led to the Voting Rights Act and other practices.
Equating that reasonable objection with “Find me the votes” and other blatant election fraud from Republicans is so damn frustrating.
They named the outlet “reason” not because libertarians honor or practice the concept, but more as a trophy; something they defeated.
I like the site and think they have great reporting most of the time. Thanks! :)
Yeah but you have terrible taste. Thanks! :)
