It’s about mixed reality after all
It’s about mixed reality after all
I can’t speak from the British Commonwealth perspective, but from a Swedish perspective my opinion is this regarding having a monarch:
Yeah, it might not reflect our modern values well, but since the (Swedish) monarch is mostly ceremonial and completely unpolitical, there’s actually quite little to hate about it. They’re just the mascot of the country. There’s far more pressing issues in our country than having that confused old guy as head of state.
At least he doesn’t possess nuclear launch codes.
That’s what I have been told and that’s why I have been avoiding creating an account
For me I hated Quora because of how locked down it is. Want to view another question on the site? Must register an account first! No fucking thanks. It was always nagging about creating an account.
Because of this I actively ignored Quora results anytime I googled something.

And if I happen to click on those videos only to confirm it’s not for me they will be like “omg, he’s crazy about this video! Let’s recommend 10 different variations of this video from now on!”
Sometimes it keeps recommending me the same videos even if have no intention of ever watching them.
Somebody can correct me, but if I remember correctly it’s widely used in countries such as India and Brazil.
Quick! Hide it before some LinkedIn lunatic use it as some inspirational post about how AR tech will revolutionize our lives.
I think the biggest difference compared to all previous endeavors is that VR/AR devices are still this thing that collects dust in the corner even among the biggest enthusiasts.
Most people had some form of portable music player (like Walkman) long before iPod was a thing.
Every household had been equipped with phones long before Apple made iPhone. Cellphones were also a huge deal before iPhone.
Watches are old as time (pun intended). Fitness trackers was also a big thing before Apple Watch.
VR/AR? Most people don’t really care - despite multiple efforts from all the biggest tech companies. Is a more premium Oculus from Apple the solution? I guess time will tell, but I have doubts.
Modern browsers are ringing all warning bells and whistles if a site doesn’t use HTTPS properly, possibly even preventing you to even load the site.
If you’re connecting to an insecure site, you will know.
When people say “Korea”, they probably mean the south one (unless they’re a fan of Kim Jong Un).
Wait until AI start to summarize meetings into email
And boycotting Russia hasn’t really stopped their aggressions
The good thing about the var keyword is that it’s still statically typed. The IDE can figure out the type for you if you hover over it.
Sure, anyone can pick up a new language or two over a weekend. That doesn’t mean they are confident enough to contribute to large scale programs with it. That takes much longer to learn.
Anyone can quickly learn how to solve some code challenges in a new language.
It’s a completely different story to learn how to write long lived enterprise scale programs that can grow with multiple independent contributors. This takes a lifetime to learn. More people have more experience to do it with Java.
Side note, I’m impressed Vimm’s lair is still going strong. I remember using it to get SNES ROMs for ZSNES early 2000s.
