Yeah, you still need the CPU to move all the data to the video card and to and from the memory. The stuff I play doesn’t mind 30 frames per second, I’m not really much of a stickler for high settings. But even the shitty unity games are starting to struggle

China certainly could be lying.

Half of the US states are purposely bankrupting their education systems to make sure that the 1 percenters are the only ones with any advantage. Even in the States that aren’t actively trying to stamp out education the poor and middle class can’t afford a respectable education.

China is sitting on a pile of natural resources and doesn’t have any problems with underpaying and working people to death.

They’re set up to do a lot with very little, they have a lot of people and resources and they’re not afraid to educate enough people to get the job done.

It’s not just space, they’re getting places with electric cars that we can’t touch.

It’ll be interesting to see where all this ends up.

I kind of wouldn’t mind seeing him get 100% of the attention for a little bit of time. I wouldn’t mind hearing him whine as loudly as writtenhouse does about how his life is ruined.

Syncthing keeps the code bases and synced between multiple computers

I don’t separate work from home because they don’t live in the same realm.

Only home stuff in the syncthing.

Searx is fancy about it though, It queries everybody and gives you the results that came back from multiple places. This effectively eliminates ads, AI, and unless they all missed it, spam.

Using duck duck go is pretty good for me, if I go to bing.com, My results are horrible. Of course it’s the same result set, but I expect I’m getting less algorithmic shuffling on DuckDuckGo.

Oh give us a couple of decades to screw up the environment enough we can’t grow outside.

Running Ubuntu on my 2015 air I struggle to get 2 hours out of it. I was able to get TLP to bring it close to 4, But it was at the cost of being borderline unusable.

I just wish they’d take a strong stance on blocking propaganda in the US too.

Back before streaming I was using the Netflix DVD plan ripping and dropping them on 4.7g blanks. I had a few binders of just my favorite stuff. I owned all the originals for all the Disney that I could get my hands on and all of my favorite cult classics. But what I was really missing was TV shows. TV shows are just expensive as hell in DVD format.

When streaming hit I finally got around to testing Netflix out. My child got fixated Chuggington. He was halfway through when they pulled it from the streaming service. I started digging around, but at the time it was really hard to find TV content. I eventually managed to get the rest of chuggington. I bought a lifetime subscription to playon, and from then on anytime he started to show a strong interest in a show I would just go ahead and record the whole thing I put it locally on tversity at the time. But Netflix just kept having the same patterns of dropping stuff off. The websites started with these are the things you should watch before they disappear from Netflix. I was just done with trusting them.

Years later the same kind of things happened with Amazon. I remember Sheriff Callie being a real pain in the rump. It went from free streaming to purchase seasons only overnight.

Eventually, Playon abandoned their lifetime client and I just went straight to newsgroup/torrent.

My 7th gens are just starting to become a problem for gaming.

I never stopped. I have streaming video and audio subscriptions, But I’ve never stopped keeping up my catalogs.

Every time I get over invested in one company or another they end up going out of business or selling and reducing half of their catalog. I’ll give d+ their sub for Agatha, I’ll give Hulu their sub for Futurama. When Wednesday comes back I’ll swap D+ for Netflix for the season again. But every single one of those episodes still goes to my local archive The same as if I would have recorded or a VHS tape in the '90s.

You have to own that shit it’s the only way you can expect them to ever own it.

Within reason, I have to hold myself accountable to the same level I expect them to.

It’s all a big balancing act. Getting enough discipline in to make them responsible without using so much the lie to you and hide stuff.

I wasn’t raised that way, I want to do better by them.

Hell, even not having lidar The thing was pretty clearly a large road obstacle a second and a half out. They had a whole left lane open At least enough time to do a significant speed reduction.

I’m really surprised they haven’t managed to push Azure Linux into the fold. Release a desktop version, Find some way to make attractive for all those Windows 10 people ready to walk away. Then just slowly fold all the bullshit back in. They could even bring the gui completely Windows 10esque

I used enlightenment for something like a decade. When Gnome hit the big time I used Gnome because it looked Nice and was very flexible. I went back to Mac and Windows Land for a bit, when I came back I went Gnome again. I just screw around for a day looking and picking plugins and fighting with it to get it exactly how I wanted it. After fighting with one of the older plugins that mustn’t doing what I wanted to do I saw somebody mentioned using KDE. I tried KDE and sure enough every single thing I was plugging the hell out of Gnome for was a default setting in KDE. I’m currently running Plasma. I must say that Cinnamon’s not bad either.

Roy and Moss together are far greater than Roy and Moss separately. I would watch another 50 seasons of that show even with the audience background laughter.
