  • It honestly scares me how Thailand is slowly becoming an authoritarian government over the years and as some one who has relatives over there, and knowing how much they hate the current king, since he’s hardly in the country cuz he’s too busy paying thousands in five star hotels to have endless orgies with his many gfs to even give a fuck about the consequences and how shit life is there atm (unless your white)

It’s honestly just upsetting, esp as freedom of speech has been so severely restricted with the changes the previous gov (military junta) has made over the years, and killing opponents of the king/government. Just absolutely scary tbh.

  • I understand banning something that’s basically super unhealthy and has direct links to cancer but at the same time, ppl have been smoking and consuming drugs/alcohol for centuries and by stopping ppl from doing it, it’s basically gonna encourage a new generation to try it.

If they’re gonna start banning things like this, then maybe they should also ban alcohol and talcum powder too since they also have links to cancer as well.

Things like this, ppl should be taught about the effects of drugs/cigarettes/alcohol in a safe environment, not just ban things cuz the law says otherwise. You can’t have a black/white approach to those things.

Signal was very slow to putting this out icl but at least it’s an option now, which is better than none at all, though sucks you still got to put your number in it though to use it.

Anything better than Telegram (which is has no E2EE via DMs by default) and WhatsApp (which is owned by Facebook) is good step in my eyes despite Signals flaws, cuz we honestly need less big tech controlling our media consumption in our world today.
