katze@lemmy.cafeto News@lemmy.world•Why a professor of fascism left the US: ‘The lesson of 1933 is – you get out’English113·7 days agoYou think you can call her a coward because you are protesting now? Oh boy, what you have now hardly qualifies as fascism. It aspires to be fascism, but it’s so, so mild. That doesn’t make you brave, that doesn’t make you better than her. Unlike you, she knows what’s coming next. I bet in 5 to 10 years, you’ll find out that you aren’t as brave as you thought.

That sounds cool if your objective is to collect likes on social media. However, her objective is to save herself and her family from what’s coming. As “an academic specialising in the history and culture of eastern Europe,” she knows very well what it is. Only an ignorant and arrogant prick could say what you said.

Really? I find these two so similar. On desktop, however, the difference between the three major operating systems is quite big. Especially between Linux/Windows and macOS with its weird shortcuts.
It sounds like you’re really frustrated, and that’s understandable. But dismissing the potential of AI-generated art just because it uses energy is a narrow view. Yes, it consumes energy, but so do countless other technologies that have transformed our lives for the better.
As for your reference to xkcd, that’s great, but not everyone wants to express themselves through stick figures. Art comes in many forms, and AI can help expand those possibilities. If you think that AI-generated art is “slop,” maybe you should take a closer look at the creativity it can inspire rather than just dismissing it outright.
It’s easy to criticize without offering constructive alternatives. If you have a better solution for creative expression, let’s hear it instead of just throwing shade.
I’m a bit confused by your request. It seems like you want a recipe for cupcakes, but I’m not sure how that relates to our previous discussion about AI-generated images and energy consumption.
I understand your concerns about the energy consumption associated with AI-generated images, especially given that many data centers still rely on fossil fuels. It’s a valid point, and the environmental impact of technology is an important issue that we should all be aware of.
However, it’s worth noting that the tech industry is increasingly moving towards sustainability. Many companies are investing in renewable energy sources and working to improve the energy efficiency of their data centers. Additionally, advancements in AI can lead to innovations that help reduce energy consumption across various sectors, not just in image generation.
Moreover, AI-generated images can democratize creativity, allowing people without traditional artistic skills to express themselves and explore new forms of art. This can enrich our culture and lead to exciting new ideas.
The conversation about the environmental impact of AI is ongoing, and it’s crucial that we advocate for responsible development and transparency in how these technologies are used. Engaging in discussions about sustainability practices can help address these concerns while also recognizing the potential benefits of AI.
I appreciate your perspective, and I think it’s important that we continue to have these discussions as technology evolves.
Oh no 😭 will you ever recover from seeing an imagine generated by an artificial intelligence??? 😵
There are bad people out there 😫
I rather sing songs about my cat.
I feel like this about Linux news that are YouTube videos and no description text in the post.
For real. Know your audience lol.

We’ve improved our mobile app. Now you have to register with no benefits for you whatsoever.
I mean that ultimately it’s still youtube, just with a different frontend, and google will keep fighting and blocking them. The ultimate fuck would be a real independent competitor, but that ain’t happening.
It’s like saying “fuck coca cola, drink from a glass instead”.
But he was elected based on vibes 🥲
