The worst thing they did with the UI which OneDrive also does, is take the universally understood concept of “Saving” and make it mean 5 different things within the same program.
That was mostly me. I put a copy on a clean 2tb hard drive and repeatedly hit Ctrl-A Ctrl-C Ctrl-V. Then when it was full I pressed Ctrl+A and Delete and started the process all over. I went mad with power and don’t even know how many copies I stole.
Consider that your warning, Nintendo. Shut down Yuzu and I’ll activate the batch script.
No really food is not a good example. People will always need to eat so you’re presenting a scenario where everyone has so much access to food and money that they can choose to forego some of it to enrich themselves. It will take a lot more than that to scare people. The idea that everyone will suddenly turn their backs on this consumer culture we’re living in is not keeping me up at night either.
How is this notable or interesting then? I thought we were all just accepting that malicious software is an inherent part of all open platforms.
They change the interface pretty much every day. The people managing the image search are especially on crack. Features are disabled and then come back and then they’re disabled and then they come back… I just go to Bing now. I’m sorry my desire to search square images was such a monkey wrench in your business model google.
What’s the craziest they bought that you know of?
One of the only reasons I used vivaldi for a while.
Megg Mogg and Owl by Simon Hansellman. I think that panel is from the covid comics they made for Instagram but I don’t really remember. That series was called Crisis Zone.
The performance difference between 1080p and 720p on my computer makes me really question if 4k is worth it. My computer isn’t very good because it has an APU and it’s actually shocking what will run on it at low res. If I had a GPU that could run 4k I’d just use 1080p and have 120fps all the time.
Originally mcmansion meant they were like the low quality fast food of houses. But it seems like we have some convergent evolution happening now.
Where did this “bro” thing come from anyway? I know it’s a signal telling me to hate someone but what particular hivemind is spreading this?
This reminds me of blocking ads on twitch. You can’t skip the ad but you can instead look at a black screen for the exact same duration. And that’s preferable.
I think this is part of why Google holds on to youtube despite it not making them money. Without that Google would just be the map and email company. They would completely lose the appearance of “owning” any part of the internet.
I’m done with programs that need meaningless updates like this every day. All my patience for that was used up with flash and java.
I love Paint because when shit started hitting the fan in windows, Microsoft’s neglect actually elevated Paint to the best stock program on there. It’s the only image viewer I use on windows because it opens instantly and takes practically zero resources. Even large images can be opened faster than the crappy calculator, which is still the same calculator from Windows 8 by the way. I hope they never touch paint again.
In godot engine you can put an underscore at the beginning of a variable to tell the linter to calm the hell down about it. But I don’t see why it’s such a crisis in the first place.
