LLMs are fundamentally a dead end though. If we ever create AGI, it will be a qualitatively different thing from an LLM.

Conservatives think the only two possible roles for a father are distant or abusive. Love is probably “too woke” or something.
Trump’s policies resulted in thousands of veterans with PTSD being denied treatment by the VA on account of lack of funding. If anyone deserves to suffer from it, he does.
“For too long, the average American has been squeezed by the big banks and financial elites,” Trump wrote. “It’s time we take a stand — together.”
Do people actually believe for a fraction of a second that Donald Trump of all people is on the side of the average American? And that the way to “take a stand” is with a crypto pump and dump scheme?
The headline really fucking buried the lede here. Texas is secretly compiling a list of trans residents for unknown reasons, we only know this because of a whistleblower.
And likely intends to do so for life.
Speedy is relative. It’s in response to monarchies which would, if they didn’t like you but didn’t have a case against you, lock you up “pending trial” for the rest of your life. The point was just to prevent that.
The kids in the top one are so excited about their newfound Freedom™ to toil away in the mines.
This is a fair bit worse than poor use of money.
The root of it is transphobia because before the Olympics started, they predicted that because trans athletes are allowed like they have been for over 20 years, they’ll dominate every event despite that not happening before and nothing having changed recently. Since that didn’t happen, because admitting that they were wrong is very clearly not an option, they accuse cis athletes that they deem not sufficiently feminine of being trans. People who don’t really follow what’s going on but take the right wing position by default believe them, and it reinforces their biases, so it works as propaganda despite a complete lack of basis in reality.
It’s a dog whistle to the racists who think the only thing worse than not being white is being mixed race. But they can’t just say that out loud, so they play dumb and go “how can she be both?”
That’s not how that works. You don’t end up with a blank slate, you end up with a fascist shithole with no guarantee of it ever being unfucked.
It’s named as attack ad bait. “So-and-so voted against the Kids Online Safety Act” sounds bad to the uninformed voter, and there are a lot of uninformed voters.
At this point he could spend an entire debate screaming racial slurs and defecating on the podium and not lose any voters.
You’d be right in this case too. It’s extremely sketchy, it’s pretty much absolute censorship power with only an informal promise that it won’t be used for anything nefarious (but a refusal to actually codify anything preventing that). “Harmful content” is left very conveniently vague.
The previous approach was to focus on how he’s a dangerous fascist, which his supporters were able to spin as strength. Focusing on how he’s the kind of off-putting creep that you instinctively cover your drink as he walks by can’t be spun that way.
Within a matter of hours there was already a swarm of apologists going “here’s what he actually meant”.
They’re well past “borderline” unconstitutional.
It’s also a bit odd that the spell so dangerous it was the absolute peak of the Dark Arts was a spell that just killed one person, and not even reliably. Where are the spells to call down meteors and cause earthquakes?
Republicans do a thing, baselessly accuse Democrats of doing that thing, so idiots conclude “oh, both sides are accusing each other of doing that thing, it’s probably not happening.”
