So-called “originalist” judges rub their hands together and do that evil grin when they get a chance to reinterpret laws in ways that benefit their political allies.
This whole time, I’ve been seeing West on polls and assuming Kanye West was still on the ballot
That’s Jack from Lost. Totally not related to the meme, idk why they used this image lol. I believe this is the episode where he becomes a drunk and tries to convince everyone that they need to go back to the island
Thanks for all the updates!
I’m sure that’s part of it. I think also the last Fyre festival became such a sensation that people actually did wish they had gone just to be able to say they were there. For people with lots of money and nothing better to do, maybe thats all that matters
And I’m in agreement with Biden, I think. I love Bernie and think he would have made a great president, but with how close 2020 was for Biden, I doubt he would have won the election. In fact I think part of why Kamala’s doing well is for the same reason that Biden did well in 2020: Trump wanted to run against Bernie in 2020, and he wanted to run against Biden in 2024. Trump struggles when things don’t go the way he expects them to, and I remember in 2020 a lot of trump’s arguments were about how Biden was too far left, almost like he wanted to be making those arguments about Bernie instead
Same in Kentucky. We elected a democratic governor, we can do this!
Aside from that, if all the current waterfront property goes underwater, then previously undesirable land will slowly become more valuable, once we know where coastlines will land (it depends on when and at what temperature warming starts to flatten out). When that happens, it becomes another avenue for wealth transfer to the rich.
I love when i see people reference other stuff thats trending on Lemmy. One of the things I miss about reddit
I made a few conservatives mad for saying that Trump was the only person who could have lost to Biden in 2020, they really didnt like it phrased like that.
So they’ll stop nnow right?
Unfortunately VPs are beholden the the same term limits as president, so Biden can’t be VP again, but that would be very funny
Edit: apparently I’m talking out of my ass. I learned that at some point and never doublechecked, so thank you to those eho corrected me

Especially for someone whose whole identity is based on growing up as a good ol’ Appalachian boy, it’s pretty weird to say he’s learned much of anything about the struggles of working families from his wife’s experiences. Unless --gasp-- perhaps he’s exaggerated the experiences of his childhood?
It was also, at least according to Jefferson, intended to be replaced on a regular basis to better reflect the needs of the country.
Yeah I’m 100% behind Harris, so I don’t really care, but this is a puff piece. There’s no way she found out the day of, there was too many ads and too much merch ready to go.
Yeah for real, who else would even have access to Ukrainian POWs to kill. Is Ukraine in a secret war against Atlantis?
Yeah, I am, but I don’t want to put too much weight on my own experience. I got my PhD last year, so I went from living paycheck to paycheck on a grad student stipend to having a real job making decent money. Many other people are not doing as well as they were, so I don’t want my own anecdotal evidence to cloud my perception
God I love this series
