AI has been used for these things for decades, they are just in the background and not noticed by laypeople
Though the biggest issue is that when people say “AI” today, they mean specifically LLMs, but the world of AI is so much larger than that
You can explode without turning into pieces, though
I mean, small things like that add up, you want your stack as optimized as possible
A quarter of a second here, another quarter there, and suddenly it might take 2 seconds longer for a connection to form, which matters a ton. A lot of work in the modern web is going into reducing latency
Spoken like a true non-minority
Bigotry is literally due to western colonialism in many places in the first place. How many instances of what used to be a cultures version of queer people were erased and demonized by colonizing nations in history?
A lot of cultures used to have third genders and even might have thought highly of them, having them be shamans or other prestigious positions
It’s why “smart grids” are talked about a lot recently, even though it doesn’t mean much for the layperson. But for the people actually working in the industry, it matters a lot and can be a huge benefit
Well, there’s a reason old ships had people high up as scouts. These days we just use radar and gps
Also, on a final note…
Why the fuck would you limit yourself to only human senses when you have the capability to add more of any sense you want??
If you have the option to add something that humans don’t have, why wouldn’t you? As an example, humans don’t have gps either, but it’s very useful to have in a car
I guess they really want deadlock to succeed
Bruh are you living under a rock? It’s constantly in the local news where I live, it’s very much controversial
I’d rather have a future than pay 5% less for whatever it is I currently want
A browser, which is like the prime attack vector for malware and other nasty stuff, having direct memory access is so hilarious in hindsight
These days you try to sandbox everything as much as possible in the browser since the internet is like the least trusted environment there is
Indeed, and the reason why I think the incompleteness theorems are the nail in the coffin, is that otherwise you could at least prove that certain sets of axioms worked together, then you’d have some basis for the math you use, even if it was self-referential
But it turns out that is impossible, and what we choose as our foundation for the math we use is pretty much arbitrary. Although of course we have reasons to use what we use
Godel’s second theory of incompleteness states that a formal system cannot prove its own consistency
I think that’s as close as you can get to “math is not objective”
We already know that math isn’t objective due to Godel’s incompleteness theorem
I do find it amazing that it was literally easier to send humans to the moon than faking it in 1969
Like, isn’t that an astonishing fact?
Not in Diablo, but in strategy games or stuff like MOBAs or shooters? Yeah, I do
That’s very funny to me, since GTA 2 is the only GTA I have fond memories of
But then again, I was a kid so. Not exactly the most refined tastes
