This is absolutely it. The C-suite and senior management are made up of sharp people. They absolutely know this will trigger an exodus and a large bag of fire-able workers. They don’t care that they’re likely to lose a bunch of talented, hardworking staff. Its all been accounted for. At worst the results of a mass exodus will only impact their bottom line in a few years. They just need this years numbers to look good and line to go up.

If you’re going down that road, you’re never seeing anything in its present form because even for an object a meter in front of you, all you’re really seeing is the object as it existed nano seconds in the past. Hows is a nano second in the past different from years in the past?

Why do people turn to crime? Maybe a few idolize Pablo Escobar and the like, but the vast majority are trying to get by, feed their families and bring their kids through school. If legal work has you slaving away for a pittance that won’t even feed your family and corrupt governments take away money meant for the betterment of the community you start to see why some people stop caring or see illicit means as their only way out of poverty.

Education. An educated populace means a skilled workforce, which leads to better paying jobs and a chance out of poverty. I don’t think the choice between a good paying job in an international pharmaceutical company and a dangerous drug lab is a difficult one when you have legitimate options on the table.

That’s how these types of collapses work though.

Everything just barely holds together and then the literally straw that breaks the camel’s back hits and then it all goes to shit in an instant.

They’re keeping it together but at what cost? We can clearly see the social and demographic cost that will hit in a decade, we can see the economic costs hitting but how long till that manifests into something they can’t policy their way out of is a big question.

Death is it’s own problem.

The part that’s less known is smokers tend to have other nasty health problems like COPD where even having a conversation needs a breather and climbing a flight of stairs in one go is entirely outside the realm of possibility.

Frankly this is all of them.

They only care about Palestine insofar as it furthers their own political goals. Its low hanging fruit for them to stroke the religious and nationalistic fires in their people and redirect their attention away from issues like the economy and civil rights.

Here are a few reasons why thats not true

1. People talking about these guys being dumbasses does not equate to people taking climate change seriously.

2. There is limited bandwidth for publicity, these morons are taking publicity away from people actively doing the research, enacting changes, building things the help mitigate climate change.

3. They give the opportunity for climate change deniers to lump all climate change activists together with these idiots, allowing them to replace the message of “Act against climate change” to look at all these dumbass climate change activists.

No need to worry. That problem eventually resolves itself as any sub that fails to submerge will eventually get sunk by enemy action and successfully sink in the end.
