Need? No. But hardware acceleration makes things faster and more efficient.
Those cost money too
I’d be more worried about the windows bootloader deciding to overwrite grub
It’s a lot higher if you are not related
For a company this big it would also have to have gotten past a code review and QA team, right? … right? …
Depends. Since this is security software it probably has a kernel driver component. I think in linux a 3rd party kernel module could do the same. But the community would not accept closed source security software, especially not in the kernel.
I can recommend this site for up-to-date and fairly neutral parts recommendations split by budget https://www.logicalincrements.com
Four months of prison? It sounds like the man is disconnected from reality but hardly a real threat to society.
Honestly the LCD decks are so cheap, especially with sales, I don’t think you could build a gaming PC for that price.
It works in KDE + Wayland… mostly… for applications that support it… and there was this update that ruined my color profile for a while but they fixed that now!
I will always downvote articles with “slams” in the title. It is undoubtedly low effort clickbait. …unless someone actually gets a door slammed in their face.
Piracy is not a real solution to the problem. Microsoft allows these sorts of things to exist in the background because they would rather lose out on some sales than lose market share.
Windows 11 isn’t bad. But it’s a sidegrade from 10. For example, I have an ultrawide HDR display and 11 is a must for HDR. But the damn start bar can’t move to the left anymore which is super annoying on an ultrawide.
That’s just a CPU with extra steps
Even the article acknowledges that “The city-state has excellent public transport links by bus and subway”. Clearly the city realizes they are running out of space and want to prioritize people over cars. The remark at the end - " your own family comes first" - just ends up sounding selfish and anti-social.
It does suck that it caters to the rich rather than the needy but taxation is just how you deincentivise certain behaviors in a capitalist society. Hopefully Singapore counters this with subsidized special transport for the handicapped and elderly.
The general consensus in the media is to not name or talk much about the shooter. It gives other troubled kids the opportunity to see them as a role model.
Unless you have the ability to root it, does it matter? It’s likely a completely custom, stripped down distro anyway.
