Very true, but due to its size, it doesn’t really make sense to focus on it.

I was never a fanboy, but 10 years ago I had hope that he and his companies would make the world a better place.

I never looked much into him as a person, but the promise of neat electric cars and humans living on Mars made it seem like the world was on a decent trajectory.

I was obviously naive in hindsight, but on the surface everything seemed to be fine.

I think he genuinely changed as well though. Sure, some of the stuff people believe was obviously wrong in hindsight, but his unhinged tweets just weren’t a thing 10 years ago.

That’s not true. In university we did some base-32 calculations just for “fun”. We had to use letters of the alphabet for digits after 9, but that’s no different from what people are used to with hexadecimal numbers.

I agree with most of you what you said, but I’m really conflicted about it.

On one hand I hate the abuse (mental as well as physical) young women regularly go through in the modeling industry, but on the other hand losing yet another outlet for human creativity also sucks.

Games is the one example that actually makes sense though. The game code size hasn’t really increased tremendously, but the uncompressed assets have only gotten more detailed and more numerous.

That is exactly why Chromebooks were (are?) so popular. You got a cheap laptop with an easy-to-use OS without having to do any install. And let’s be real here, most people don’t need anything more than a web browser.

Go for Bazzite. It’s basically Steam OS but with extra stuff that makes it “just work”, even on an Nvidia GPU.

Once Valve releases their official Steam OS, you can always switch to it.
