Hello, my name is Cris. :)
I like being nice to people on the internet and looking at cool art stuff

Thats fair. A na miata is basically my dream car, I hope to someday daily one in spite of being from the 90s 😅
I mean, a lot of cars have a genuinely phenomenal life span, if you don’t mind getting something that isn’t shiny and new you can probably get like a 2012 Toyota or Honda and drive it till the wheels fall off. My dream car is from the 90s and people still generally regard them as fairly reliable
Eventually it’ll be an issue, but that does leave a lot of time for nerds and hackers to find a way to gut networking stuff while telling the car it’s still intact. Dunno if we’ll ever see an open source car OS compatible with the systems in major manufacturer’s vehicles, but privacy workarounds feel like they could be pretty realistic
Awww, thats genuinely really lovely, I’m so pleased to hear it’s gone really well for them
Gotcha. Yeah I choose to use Mastodon, I’d much rather support the open community built option than the option built by a company with a profit motive, I just try to stay in the loop about stuff
Thanks for the answer :)
Did something specific already happen with Bluesky, or are people just expecting it because VC vultures now have their claws in it?
Its an allegory for the civil rights movement regarding race if I recall correctly, which I think people appreciate, and are just frustrated with certain details of how the story was contrived to express its ideas.
I remember liking it okay, but I frankly don’t remember it well, I mostly just remember sobbing a lot at the episode where data has a child because I love Data a whole bunch
Not who you replied to, but thank you, I misread the quote initially
Not entirely sure why you’re being downvoted to be honest.
Also not entirely sure I follow exactly what you mean, I think there are a couple ways that comment could be interpreted. But I don’t really see why folks are downvoting you 😅
It seems kinda appropriate to me. Somehow the republican party is the “patriotic” one, but they seem to be anti-democracy, anti-seperation of church and state, trump fucking hates folks who serve or served in the military, and they pay constant lip service to the Constitution, but in office Trump tear gassed peaceful American protesters practicing their freedom of speech and assembly.
I don’t think it’s a bad strategy to take the “patriotic” label from them, they sure as hell don’t deserve it.
I don’t know what ads you’re seeing, but basically every ad I see for Harris is about materially improving people’s lives 😅

Huh, learned something today, thanks for the explanation
It’d be easy to enforce for accounts marked as bots. Doing more than that would get a lil more complicated quickly though
Was this posted by a bot? It looks like they have an active comment history…
Yeah, profit incentives have warped the world in a lot of not so pleasant ways, but man do you really feel it with journalism. Even when it’s good journalism or a compelling story :/
Wait, what’s happening to permissions on android…?
I didn’t think I could install via a file on android, but it turns out you actually can! Thanks for the link :)
Thanks!
Your sauce will still have less sugar than others, but if I understand correctly, simmering for hours will break down the more complex sugars in tomatoes into simpler sugars resulting in a somewhat sweeter taste
I think cooking does also dull the percieved acidity of food though, hence lemon juice or other acids often being added at the end so as to keep the brightness. But I’m not actually sure if the pH changes or if it’s just a change in the tartness we associate with acidity, maybe someone can chime in with more information :)
