Much like you, I was curious as to how long this has been going on. From what I could find, the church has been called out for molesting kids and covering it up since at least as early as 1049. They’ve most likely been doing this for much longer obviously, but as far as being directly called out on it and that being documented, it’s been nearly 1000 years.

I’ve had my niece say she was bullied in school for not wanting to claim she was bisexual or something - and this is in a pretty deep-red area. I’m sorry, but 50% of the population being LGBT is not anywhere close to reality, and is a pretty good sign that these kids are being indoctrinated. I understand the need to be understanding for people who are this way, but the ‘inclusion’ needle swung so far the other direction that it’s now convincing children that they are gay/bi/trans when they aren’t. That’s such a good point, you’re not free from the financial burdens post-op. I’m just a freshly cracked egg so I’m still learning. I was going off of the convos I’ve had about the post-op life with friends and strangers in trans forums. A lot of the discussions around de-transitioning focused on the pressure to “be the person we knew” from people in their lives and also the pressure to reach a nigh impossible ideal of gender from society in general.
