Our representatives are a reflection of our voters.

Yeah, because we suck at maintaining a democracy and slowly allowed that reality to come to pass. If we voted more intelligently we’d have more intelligent representatives and money wouldn’t have the influence it does. Other countries have better, more intelligent representatives. We just suck.
