The position opened up after the top Democrat on Oversight, Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., challenged Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., for a similar post on the Judiciary Committee, prompting Nadler to bow out.
There already exist leftist parties. They languish in obscurity thanks to our election process. We didn’t get a new right-wing party, we witnesses a determined enough voter base take it over through primaries starting with the Tea Party and culminating with MAGA. We need more leftist candidates and voters showing up in the Democratic primaries to wrest the party away from the old guard.
This is the most important point alot of my fellow leftists just refuse to accept. Because of the way our elections are structured, the only way for us to gain real electoral power is by capturing the Democratic Party and its voters. Getting success with a 3rd party is exponentially more difficult than running up the scoreboard during the primaries, even with DNC fuckery.
