Article by the Verge: It reports on technical difficulties encountered by movie theatre chain Alamo Drafthouse which prevented them from showing digital projections, due to software problems with Sony projectors.
If you read the article, they are no longer in the business of selling theatre projection equipment.
This was probably an expired certificate. Alamo Drafthouse, like many movie theatres, probably cuts costs by not having a projectionist and lets the projectors essentially run on auto pilot, and then faced the consequences when no one noticed that their certificates had expired.
Sorry to be unclear, I meant in general - so because they booby trapped their CDs, nobody should buy their anything, not just CDs and projectors.
Isnt Sony still the golden standard for tvs?
Not so much with OLED being a thing. They do make OLED TVs now, but they’re just buying LG panels, so it comes down to is their image processing worth twice as much for the same screen.
Their industrial design is still top-tier throughout their portfolio though.
