The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a pause in the movement of its employees in the Gaza Strip “until further notice” after one of its vehicles was hit by gunfire just metres from an Israeli-controlled checkpoint.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric blamed Israel for the attack, telling reporters in New York that the “clearly marked” humanitarian vehicle was “struck 10 times” by Israeli gunfire, including with bullets targeting front windows.

Five of the bullets were on the driver’s side and some on the windscreen.

Dujarric said the convoy’s movements had been coordinated with the Israeli military and it had clearance to approach.

I disagree, Zionism isn’t Judaism. Zionism was created out of antisemitic reasons, European nations ‘solving’ the ‘jewish question,’ instead of enshrining protections for the rights of Jewish people in their nations; and has continued to fuel antisemitism as Israel attributes it’s crimes against humanity in the name of all Jewish people, which clearly isn’t true. Antisemites love that conflation

Germany isn’t making that distinction nor are most countries at this point though that could be argued to be because of influence. I don’t disagree with the sentiment it just doesn’t change what is actually happening and why.

I agree, I think the continued support is more about geopolitical influence and American hegemony in the region. If the US pulled support, I’m sure many European nations would follow. Props to Ireland and Spain for standing out and not supporting this genocide
