“Forcing millions of Ukrainian citizens who live in temporarily occupied territories or who have been forcibly transferred to Russian Federation territory to participate in the so-called ‘elections’ is equally illegal,” Ukraine’s foreign ministry adds.

Vladimir Putin, who launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine two years ago, is set to win a new six-year term in the March 15-17 vote. This would enable him to overtake Josef Stalin to become Russia’s longest-serving leader.

Why is that even a question?

Russian elections are a joke even when held in russia, why would they matter to anyone when held in Ukraine?

Well, far-right parties in the EU have represenatatives go over there to be observers to legitimize it. In Sweden they did that for Crimea, and I think I saw a post about the AfD doing it now in Ukraine. So it seems relevant.

Wiki says Stalin was 1924-1953. 29 years.

Putin is 2000. 24 years and going. (Yeltsin resigned Dec 31 1999, I’m rounding to 2000.)
