and you’re going to become a reliable seeder for at least 2.0, right?
…
Right?
Most of the shit I’ve seeded for years I’m not even close to 2.0. I’m lucky to get over 1. Sometimes I have less popular things where I’m one of the only seeders take off but in general idk how people manage to keep up a ratio on private trackers. All mine comes from buying credit on their points system which takes forever. You can try to get on something as soon as it’s posted but even that’s hit or miss.
I think the trick is to get in early on something that will be high demand.
I’m not any good at it either.
Yea, and you have to do it basically instantly or it’s no good and you just burned some of what little download credit you have on it. If they give you points for # of torrents you’re uploading on I usually download a shitload of small things like comics or magazines and just let my points build up over time that way. It takes forever but it’s safer than hoping to get lucky on a new upload of a movie or show actually taking off.
this is why i hate private trackers, arent we meant to be PIRATES!
Aye, but ya have to follow the code!
They can enforce that by requiring you to seed for x days/weeks/months just as easily. Ratio just limits people trying to start out from acquiring content (and adding to the number of available seeds).
my upload speed is 50 bytes on a good day if it even decides to upload lmao, I only managed to seed one thing in my life to 1.0, it was an arch iso 🚬😔
.01 it is!

I remember on the old days with my shitty internet and being bored I setup an rss with only YiFi releases (because of the small size…)… And I downloaded a lot of movies… And man there were some weird shit… The most I remember is this black and white movie (but is modern) that is recorded in a Disney Park but without their permission… That was super weird. I checked now is called “Escape from tomorrow”.
Private only and check the awesome top 10 lists once a week for what’s new. I actually went looking for a public torrent site last week and I couldn’t find one.
I can’t figure out port-forwarding which I assume is affecting my ratio. So I don’t even try to get invited to private trackers
You shouldn’t really have to. It’s all done by the application unless you sit behind a firewall or your systems firewall is on and super secure. Normally I never have to do anything for the port ranges it has setup to communicate with other peers. Port forwarding would be if I want to access the application outside my network, but I have no need for that. Plus it sounds more of a risk than it’s worth.
