This has to be a record for the most downvoted comment on Lemmy, holy moly. This is a huge absolute margin even for reddit.

Motorcycles: Excuse me
Sports cars: Hold my beer

It’s literally the opposite in my place. The cold spigot will release 90F water when it’s 60F outside. The hot spigot is even hotter.
If enabled, this could secretly start purchasing random things with your credit card, pretty much just stealing your money. We can’t trust a voice assistant with this, why trust AI?
It’s really good for generating code snippets based on what I want to do (ex. “How do I play audio in a browser using JavaScript?”) and debugging small sections of code.
Fun fact: In most states, this length is 40ft, but there are some exceptions, like CA, where it’s 24ft or 48ft depending on the road.
This storm has reached 180mph at its peak. Have you ever braced wind at that speed? I’ve ridden at 120mph on my motorcycle (at a drag strip). The wind, even with a full face helmet and visor, was so extreme that it was hard to hold on and my ears were ringing afterward despite having earplugs in. This insanity corresponds to a few seconds of a category 3 hurricane. This hurricane’s winds are like that felt by squids on literbikes doing top speed runs.
Think about why you joined Lemmy. Reddit has been getting greedier and greedier, so you left to a place where the grass is greener. The same thing is true with Windows and Linux (and Linux is also much more big and mature than Lemmy). It attracts the same kind of people.
No joke, I’m tempted to buy a Steam Deck (or true Linux phone) because… It can run a local HTML/CSS/JS app on a browser with filesystem access and audio support. This is the power of having an OS that is not locked down.
Speaking of which, what would you recommend for me to run a local HTML/CSS/JS app on a browser with filesystem access and audio support? (No, Android is too locked down to meet that spec) Other required specs:
Don’t forget the benefit of being able to spite Google!
Perhaps some components of the game can be open-sourced, especially regarding modding APIs and whatnot. Still allows them to keep some things closed for a while, but could expand the mods and optimization even further.
It won’t do 4k 60fps HDR, but it can play 40 years worth of games, and also do office and productivity work while being portable to take it outside of your home.
Unexpected factorial
Paying for software is okay, except when it keeps trying to milk you even after paying for it, especially if it’s a subscription. This can come in the form of ads, the sale of personal information, or some other crap (such as binding arbitration).
I once read that the license should be smaller than your code. Gives me a good baseline:
Permissive license for small projects and little tests
Copyleft license for big projects
I feel like a HUD is only in expensive cars because it’s a very useful feature people actually want.
Nobody is mentioning heads-up displays? That’s peak tech. The info is right there without having to move your eyes off the road.
Yes by default, but there should be an option to make them public
Make it optional and opt-in.
NNN is literally just a challenge. It doesn’t matter if you nut or not. Heck, most people only do it for the challenge and the “big nut” when they lose or after they win.
