Fervent Trump supporters from last elections air doubts over abortion and the man himself in state where turnout will be key

Terri Burl has come full circle.

The local Republican party official was a founding member of Women for Trump in her corner of rural Wisconsin eight years ago when the then New York businessman’s run for president was little more than a joke to political pundits.

Burl twice campaigned enthusiastically for Donald Trump’s election but, after he lost the presidency to Joe Biden in 2020, she feared the chaos of his years in power had made him unelectable. The former social worker and substitute teacher switched her support to Florida’s governor, Ron DeSantis, and then Trump’s former UN ambassador Nikki Haley.

But now Burl is back campaigning for Trump in Oneida county.

“I don’t feel excited. But I have a bunch of ‘Never Trump’ friends and this is my argument to them: I say, you better vote for Trump or you get Biden,” she said.

Don’t threaten me with an alright time.

Every article about how poorly this man is as a candidate is merely an attempt to charm Democratic voters into not voting.

Do not let them sway you. Everyone Must Vote.

The polling at the moment certainly says otherwise too (although some of it is likely venting over Biden than a genuine desire to vote for Trump). In any case, vote like your life depends on it.

This unfortunately doesn’t seem to translate to average people… they are still just as vocally trump supporters as they were before. Maybe more so.

Only thing that’s going to convince me is the election results.

Most of the “average people” have been lulled by Russian and American oligarch propaganda through Fox, OAN and Newsmax, repeated often by loud drunks and druggies. Funny how all these upstanding self-reliant red states are also net welfare states and states with the highest homicide rates

It sucks that half the country is vote Trump or you get Biden and the other half is vote Biden or you get Trump.

This really is a race to the bottom. However, while Biden will just bump along on the bottom, Trump will bust through the floor and dig us all the way down to hell.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The local Republican party official was a founding member of Women for Trump in her corner of rural Wisconsin eight years ago when the then New York businessman’s run for president was little more than a joke to political pundits.

Burl twice campaigned enthusiastically for Donald Trump’s election but, after he lost the presidency to Joe Biden in 2020, she feared the chaos of his years in power had made him unelectable.

“I don’t think many Democrats are excited by Biden but my fear is that in the coming months Trump will remind them why they voted against him last time and now they have new reasons, like the supreme court ruing on abortion.”

Schuh, like many Republicans, singled out the immigration crisis, played up heavily in conservative news media, as a major issue that will defeat Biden in Wisconsin, even though the state is far from the US-Mexico border and few migrants make it the 1,500 miles to Rhinelander.

The former president faces a string of criminal trials for charges ranging from inciting the January 6 riot at the Capitol to illegally handling classified documents and for financial fraud in New York.

On Thursday 2 May, 3-4.15pm ET, join Tania Branigan, David Smith, Mehdi Hasan and Tara Setmayer for the inside track on the people, the ideas and the events that might shape the US election campaign.

The original article contains 1,641 words, the summary contains 228 words. Saved 86%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

They’re both too fucking old. So if it helps you think about it, you may be voting for Kamala, not Biden, given his mental presence in the present.

This lackluster shit helps no one. But Trump would be disastrous beyond the 2016-2020 thing. He won’t leave this time. And he’s not the guy to deal with this Russia China alliance.

If ever there was an endorsement for mail in ballots, like some states have, this is it. You register to vote at the DMV. And your ballot shows up in the mail. No effort/extra time needed, large turnout.
